A full first day of thrills plus the chance to see dramatic scenery, and camp on sparkling white beaches. Enjoy hearty meals and sleep camped under starlight with friends.
Your support team will safely guide you through the rapids on the self supported expedition and explain the geology and fascinating history of this area.
Between September and November rafting is at its best with lots of grade 4 and 5 rapids.

The journey traverses through the Songwe and Batoka gorges, with sheer rock walls that rise hundreds of meters above the river. On longer journeys basalt rocks give way to grassy banks and the grunts of vocal hippo’s carry across the water. Rapids are interceded by calm stretches of crystal clear water where you can enjoy a relaxing swim.

Minimum Age: 10 years
Fitness Level: No fitness requirement to do the activity.
Options: Overnight, 2 day, 5 night. Starting options from both the Zimbabwe or the Zambian side

Inclusions and Exclusions

Includes: Transfers, tea/coffee and biscuits on the first day, cold lunch and breakfast daily. All equipment is also included.
Excludes: Items of a personal nature (Such as personal medication etc), gratuities and river usage fees.

What to wear

Swimsuit and shorts or cycling shorts but nothing that water will easily remove
T-shirt or long-sleeved shirt for sun protection
Sturdy shoes/trainers or rafting shoes (best). Your shoes must be securely fitted to your feet, anything loose like flip flops will come off and be lost !
Wet suits are provided in the winter months.

We advise clients to bring:
A way to secure glasses to yourself or they will be lost.
Sunscreen and lip balm (guides will have dry bag for this)
A peak cap that will fit comfortably under your helmet.
Bring as little as possible as it all has to carried in minimal space.
